The History behind Anchor for Widows and Children
Our History – Est. since 2002
Anchor for Widows and Children (AWAC) is a Non Governmental Organization whose mission is to bring Reconciliation, Restoration and Hope for the Widows, Orphans and Brilliant but Needy Children.
The N.G.O was founded in Tema and Kpone which are all densely populated coastal towns in Ghana, precisely in the Greater Accra Region in the year 2002. Anchor for Widows and Children was founded by Rev. Dr. Sam Ayi Ankrah, who often travels around the world and has a strong passion for widows and deprived children. He saw the need to bring smiles on the faces of Widows, Orphans and Brilliant but Needy Children as his God Given Assignment.
Since the establishment of Anchor for Widows and Children, we have been committed to the Distribution of Food, Clothing, Groceries, payment of Widows Medical Bills, Renting Rooms for some of them and the payment of Orphans and Brilliant but Needy Children’s School fees.
Hundreds of Clients have benefited from this Care Ministry (Anchor for Widows and Children). One will be surprised that, since the inception of this N.G.O, there has not been any major sponsorship from both local or foreign.
All funds are made available by the founder and the wife with few but timely supports from Mr. M Synes, Gloryhouse Bible Church, Ghana and Bishop Walter Hanchell. We believe and hope that as you read the History you will be touched to be a supporter of this Great Kingdom Work.
And may Good Lord Bless you as you become a supporter!
